Facilitated by: Rebecca Higgins (she/her), MSW, Mental Health Educator
In this engaging, interactive session, we will begin by discussing why change can be difficult and by normalizing the experience of struggling with uncertainty. We will reflect on our own responses in the face of change. The remainder of the session will be focussed on practical strategies for coping with change. We will investigate and practice simple, applicable strategies that can be implemented both inside and outside of work to shore up our capacity to navigate life's waves. Take-away tools and resources for further reading will be provided.
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
notice and identify their own responses to change
name the 5A skill areas for coping with change
understand how to implement at least one wellness practice or strategy for each of the 5 A’s
Pedagogical Focuses: Belonging - Expression - Well-Being - Leadership
Standards of Practice: Standard I: Caring and Responsive Relationships, Standard III: Safety, Health and Well-Being in the Learning Environment, Standard V: Professional Boundaries, Dual Relationships and Conflicts of Interest
