SOCIAL FITNESS & THE ART OF PRESENCE: REBUILDING IN-PERSON CONNECTION

  • Civic Gardens Complex - Birch Room 625 Springbank Drive London, ON, N6K 4T1 Canada (map)

Registration opens on Wednesday, April 1 at 7:00 PM!

Facilitated by: Sofia Eidsath & Sam Tall, RSW (Railway City Improv)

In an era of digital disconnect, authentic connection is the new luxury. This session moves beyond "parallel play" to "Active Connection," helping professionals rebuild their social agility. Using the principles of applied improv, we focus on lowering social anxiety, silencing perfectionism, and hardwiring the psychological safety needed for high-stakes, in-person collaboration. Participants will learn to treat every interaction as an "offer," transforming "Wait-to-Speak" syndrome into radical acceptance and genuine presence.

Please note that while this session is hosted by an improv group, it is not comedy based. It is focused on conversation and listening.

Pedagogical Focuses: Belonging - Engagement - Expression - Well-being - Leadership - Networking

Standards of Practice: Standard I:  Caring and Responsive Relationships, Standard II:  Curriculum and Pedagogy, Standard III:  Safety, Health and Well-Being in the Learning Environment, Standard V:  Professional Boundaries, Dual Relationships and Conflicts of Interest
