Description:
First Place Early Learning Centre Inc. is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team!
As an RECE, you will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging early learning environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. You will plan and implement play-based learning experiences that reflect children’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs while building meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

What You’ll Do:
Plan and implement meaningful, play-based learning experiences that support children’s development and interests.
Create inclusive learning environments that encourage exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and independence.
Support children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication development.
Observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning to support responsive curriculum planning.
Build positive, respectful, and responsive relationships with children and families.
Maintain active supervision and ensure children’s health, safety, and well-being.
Support children’s individual needs, including allergies, medical requirements, and accommodations.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with families regarding children’s experiences and development.
Collaborate with Early Childhood Educator Assistants, educators, supervisors, and community partners.
Participate in staff meetings, professional learning opportunities, and reflective practice.
Follow the College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, licensing requirements, and First Place Early Learning Centre Inc. policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
Current Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the employer (issued within six months prior to employment).
Up-to-date immunization documentation as required.
Legal authorization to work in Canada.
The following are considered assets:
Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a licensed child care setting.
Experience working with children from infancy to preschool age.
Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and Ontario Regulation 137/15.
Knowledge and understanding of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
Experience implementing play-based learning approaches.
