Orchard Park is a non-profit, Parent Cooperative Nursery School that offers half day programming for children who are 2 to 5 years of age. It has been in the Orchard Park area for over 50 years. The Early Childhood Educator works under the direction of the Executive Director and a Parent Executive Board. The ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for the planning and delivery of inclusive, play-based learning and care programs for children. Educators are responsible for promoting the well-being and holistic development of the children in their care. 

We believe all children have unique needs and that the daily schedule must be flexible to meet the individual needs of each child. We embrace the varied experiences of each family and strive to ensure each child has time to learn, to play, to establish relationships, to grow, to nourish themselves, to rest, to be active and to feel a sense of belonging. The Before and After School Program Educator, oversees child care programming for before school hours (approx. 6:45am – 9:00am), and for after school hours (approx. 2:45pm – 6:00pm). The successful candidate will provide care for children (3.8 years to 12 years of age) in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings. They will follow the Program Statement, Confidentiality Agreement, policies established by the Board of Directors, and regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act.

The successful candidates will provide care for children from birth to 13 years of age, in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings Day Nursery. They will also ensure that they are integrating Good Beginnings’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging values into their environment. Positions are available at all of our 13 School Age Programs, as well as at our 4 Child Care Centres.

The Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children within the Childcare Centre. The RECE will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate programs and activities that foster learning and development, supporting the emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of each child.
