Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator Early childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. In this supply and support role, you will develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will engage in activities stories, songs, and children interest. The position includes providing opportunities for creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
Qualifications
Early Childhood Education Diploma
Proof of membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators
Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred
Experience working with children with exceptionalities preferred
Experience working with a parent board would be an asset
Standard First Aid with Infant/Child CPR - Level (C) certification
Ability to demonstrate and maintain a successful Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Meet vaccination requirements outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act
Key Responsibilities
Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing regulations.
Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment that supports children’s well-being and security.
Assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs, and discuss progress or concerns with parents and staff members.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
