15 to 22.5 hours per week to start at $18-$21 per hour depending on experience. There is potential for the position to turn into a full-time permanent position. Usually, the candidate would be required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with some of those shifts being day shift and some being afternoon shifts. Must be available to work some afternoon shifts to deliver the Family Literacy and Math Events at the times booked by schools. Must have a vehicle and be available to commute to schools and locations in London and the surrounding area with travel expenses provided.

With programs focused on literacy and numeracy, proper nutrition, leadership, the nurturing of mental wellness and other keys to future success, we are working with our partners to enrich the lives of thousands of children and their families in London and its surrounding counties.
Do you like working with children, youth and families? Investing in Children is hiring a Community Programs Leader. This position will start as a permanent part-time position with the possibility of increased hours. The Community Programs Leader will organize and lead programs as with our Investing in Children team. A successful candidate must be available to work approximately 15- 22.5 hours per week to start to meet our programs’ specific needs and times.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to):
Preparing and delivering fun-themed Family Literacy and Math Events (FLMES) at schools for K-Gr 3 students and their families. Events are generally held in the evenings from 5:30 to 8:00. (past themes include Cut Loose with Dr. Seuss, A Whole Bunch of Robert Munch etc)
Assist in the development and execution of all programs including our Family Literacy and Math Events, Blue Boxes for Books Program, Young Authors’ Virtual Camp, Kids Power Conference, Kids 1st Day, Snack Stop, HARK, Special Olympics etc.
Coordination of volunteers and placement students (including recruitment, screening, training, and scheduling)
Preparing reports and collecting data for program funders
Researching and creating content, scheduling and posting on our social media channels.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education, or a Degree in Early Childhood Leadership, Education, or related education or experience
Understanding of child development
Strong time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills and capacities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional ability to work independently, consult appropriately and work collaboratively with a team
Advanced skills related to planning and priority-setting
Proficient in researching and creating social media content
Comfortable in leading programs and engaging with children and families
Police screening for vulnerable sectors is required
A vehicle is required. We deliver all our programs in the community so a vehicle is a must.
Must be available to work occasional evenings and the odd weekend, specifically for Family Literacy and
Math Events. FLME Events usually run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:00 at various schools.
Grant Writing experience is an asset
Graphic Design and website management experience is an asset
