Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
Centre Hours of Operation are 7:30am – 6:00pm
The Program Supervisor is expected to provide occasional after-hours availability to respond to urgent operational matters and support the centre as needed

Description:

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and inspiring RECE Program Supervisor to join our founding leadership team and help shape the culture and day-to-day experience of the centre from the very beginning.

Reporting directly to the Director, the Program Supervisor will play a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the centre. This position brings together educator mentorship, pedagogical leadership, family engagement, program support, administration, and operational responsibilities to help create a safe, welcoming, and high-quality early learning environment.

The Program Supervisor will support educators, build strong relationships with children and families, contribute to a positive workplace culture, and support the implementation of MZELC's program philosophy and vision.

As Program Supervisor, you will:

  • Support the Director in the daily management of the centre

  • Mentor and support educators

  • Foster a collaborative, respectful workplace culture

  • Assist with staff scheduling and maintaining required educator-to-child ratios

  • Support staff performance reviews and professional development

Support Children & Families

  • Welcome new families through tours, registration and transition into care

  • Build positive relationships with children and parents

  • Address family questions and concerns professionally

  • Promote family engagement and community events

Uphold Quality Programming

  • Support implementation of MZELC's Program Statement

  • Guide educators in delivering high-quality, play-based learning

  • Promote child-led exploration and inquiry

  • Support observation, documentation and planning

Ensure Operational Stability

  • Support licensing compliance under the Child Care and Early Years Act

  • Maintain Ministry-required records and documentation

  • Assist with occupancy management and OneList

  • Coordinate supply educators and daily staffing schedules

  • Monitor health, safety, fire, and public health requirements

  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent

  • Registration and good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators

  • Valid Standard First Aid & Infant/Child CPR

  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada

The following are considered assets:

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or program management experience in a licensed childcare setting

  • Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, Ministry Licensing requirements, and Ontario's early learning frameworks

About Mount Zion Early Learning Centre

Mount Zion Early Learning Centre (MZELC) is a brand-new early learning centre opening in late 2026, offering care and early learning experiences for children from infancy to preschool. With two Infant rooms, two Toddler rooms, and three Preschool rooms, our newly designed centre provides educators with thoughtfully created spaces that support curiosity, exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
